SESSION TOURS
Staten
Island
See how the arts are infused in the natural and built
environment of Staten Island's historic Snug Harbor.
The 83-acre complex, comprised of a number of 19th
century Greek Revival buildings, is a former retirement
home for seaman. Many artists and organizations have
been inspired and captivated by the green spaces,
architecture, and rich history of the site. Artists
perform in varied performance and exhibition sites
throughout the campus, as Snug Harbor staff tells
the history of the spaces. The tour concludes with
cool refreshments in the New York Chinese Scholar's
Garden, the only one of its kind in the United States.
