AGENDA

The arts play a critical role in developing communities that are vibrant, inclusive, and economically prosperous. During pARTicipate2001, attendees will come together and learn from each other in the creation of personal and collective strategies for advancing the impact of the arts on livable communities.

For the first time, leaders from local and state arts agencies will come together to explore how the arts affect the livability of America's communities through the study of ten characteristics. In sessions on each characteristic, attendees will explore:

  • what successful implementation looks like;
  • barriers to that successful implementation;
  • indicators of progress or problems to look for; and
  • a list of immediate actions or strategies participants can use.

You will walk away with new ideas and approaches for making each of the ten characteristics a reality in your community.
