ABOUT THE PROGRAM

ARTVENTURES

Sunday, July 18, 2004

Sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts

Integral to the theme of the convention is an opportunity to experience real communities that exemplify the characteristics that attendees will be discussing. By metro, bus, and shoe-leather, we will explore these vibrant places.

NOTES:

  • Registration fees do not include Metrocard fares required for some ARTventures. Participants registered for these tours are responsible for purchasing their own Metrocards for transportation purposes.
  • Plan ahead! Not only should you buy your Metro fare card (if you are traveling by Metro) in advance, you should change into lightweight clothes and comfortable shoes BEFORE lunch on Sunday. If you are on a walking tour, think about using sun block. Bottles of water will be provided both at the hotel and throughout all of the tours.
  • All tours depart from the Omni Shoreham Hotel, Blue Ballroom and Blue Ballroom Prefunction (located on the 1st floor) between 2:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Look for the designated area for your tour and gather with your tour group. Please be prompt.

The tour will culminate with a walk down 14th Street’s Theatre Row, featuring Arena Stage’s Second Space and the Studio Theatre’s Main Stage and Second Stage.
