Join your peers to discuss your issues, challenges, and strategies as they relate to your unique role as board/council member, chair, or president and your effort to improve communities through the arts. Share your insights, needs, and new ideas flowing from the civic engagement breakout sessions. We’ll get acquainted with each other and identify our favorite issues/insights on Sunday and then have a more in-depth discussion on Monday.

Developing Supplemental Funding Streams
The group will explore the positive and negative implications of seeking supplemental funds for programs and operations while maintaining the integrity of one's mission. Participants are encouraged to be prepared to share successful entrepreneurial fundraising models with their peers, and bring examples of products, collateral materials, or project
summaries and evaluations.

Executive Directors/Presidents
Join directors from state and local arts agencies for a discussion about recent threats to public funding. What tactics are successful and not so successful in advocacy campaigns; who are the partners (outside the arts community) that can help us make our case; how can cities and states work together to protect funding; and how can we position ourselves to avoid more attacks on funding?
Grantmaking
Why do we make grants? How does our grantmaking support or detract from our missions and goals? Identify and discuss issues such as applications, technology, evaluation, funding eligibility, and united arts fund stipulations.
Public Art
Selection process plays a critical role in the success of public art projects. Join in a lively discussion centered around the new Public Art Network (PAN) Issue Paper, Methods
of Artist Selection, and the pros and cons of various approaches to selecting artists for public art commissions.
Rural and Small Communities
Join us for a roundtable discussion of the critical and current issues and interests of the rural arts field. Focus topics include innovative fundraising, leadership development, facilities and venue idea exchange.
State Arts Action Network

Learn more about the newly formed State Arts Action Council and the work it will be doing on behalf of the broader Network of state arts advocacy and statewide service organizations. This Network is a result of the merging of the State Arts Advocacy League of America and the National Community Arts Network.
